Cooperation: the Audit Bench shares its experience with the Court of Auditors of Burundi

From 1st to 5th September 2025, the Court of Auditors of Burundi (CCB) made an exchange visit to the Audit Bench of the Supreme Court of Cameroon (CDC). For the occasion, the CCB delegation was composed of Léopold Kabura, president of said court, and Jolie Ndayizeye, president of the administrative affairs and municipalities chamber.

During the ceremonial reception, the president of the Audit Bench Yap Abdou, while wishing the guests a pleasant stay within the jurisdiction, praised the excellence of the relations that unite the two institutions. These are based on sharing experiences and a mutual desire to strengthen public governance while engaging in a continuous dynamic of official visits.


The heart of the visit was the exchange of experiences with various officials from the Audit Bench on topics of great interest. Among these were (i) the methodology for the opinion on the draft settlement law and the certification of the State's general account, (ii) cooperation and training activities, (iii) the methodology for controlling public administrative establishments, (iv) the methodology for examining the management of ministries' programmes, (v) the methodology for controlling decentralized territorial communities, and (vi) the methodology for controlling public enterprises. On each of these subjects, the nature of the entities controlled, the planning of the control mission, the drafting of the report, and the standards applied in each case were discussed.

The CCB delegation also had exchanges with members of the public prosecutor's department on the role of the public ministry in the financial jurisdiction professions. Likewise, they were informed about the role of the registry within the Audit .

Before the restitution and capitalization of the entire mission, a short excursion to the Audit Bench archive centre, located about fifteen kilometres from the headquarters of the jurisdiction. During this session, the magistrates of the CCB had the opportunity to appreciate the methods of preserving supporting documents and to visit the construction site of the building intended to house certain services of the Audit Bench.
