Strategic and operational plan 2024-2028

7 Mar 2024

During a round table organised on 7 March 2024 at the Suita Hotel in Yaoundé, the Court of Auditors unveiled its Strategic and Operational Plan (SOP) 2024-2028 in the presence of its technical and financial partners (TFP). This ambitious document, constructed around four strategic axes, defines the five-year vision of the jurisdiction and the priorities to enhance its institutional and operational impact.

The four major axes of the SOP include:

  1. The improvement of the quality of the jurisdiction's work, to ensure reliable and rigorous outcomes.

  2. The guarantee of its good governance, by strengthening internal mechanisms of transparency and effectiveness.

  3. The prevention and fight against corruption, through targeted initiatives and strengthened partnerships.

  4. The promotion of relations with sister Supreme Control Institutions (SCI), development partners, international organisations, and other oversight bodies.

These axes are translated into 23 strategic actions comprising a total of 85 activities, thus providing a detailed roadmap to achieve the set objectives.

The contributions of technical and financial partners

The technical and financial partners, present at the round table, made key recommendations to optimise the impact of the SOP. Among these:

  • Prioritise the activities according to an order of priority, to ensure effective implementation.

  • Accompany the SOP with an advocacy document aimed at funders, to facilitate the mobilisation of resources.

  • Attach a detailed budgeting and a timeline for execution, essential for rigorous monitoring.

  • Define precise performance indicators and identify potential partners for each priority activity.

These proposals aim to ensure coherent and measurable implementation of the plan, while reinforcing the trust of financial partners.

A valuable support for a shared ambition

This round table, organised with the support of GIZ, has strengthened collaboration between the Court of Auditors and its strategic partners. The discussions not only clarified the priorities of the SOP but also laid the foundations for a renewed and better-coordinated partnership to support the Court in its ambitions for the next five years.
