Induction training for magistrates of the RCA: "of solid skills acquired"

16 May 2025

The atmosphere was studious in the deliberation room of the Court of Auditors of the Supreme Court (Cdc) on 15 May 2025 during the closing ceremony of the internship of the judges of the Court of Auditors of the Central African Republic (RCA).

For the occasion, Fofung Justine Nabum, née Wacka, chairwoman of the 3rd Section and representative of the president of the Cdc, who was unable to attend, led this session marking the end of the eight-month immersion internship of these financial judges.

It is worth noting that following the correspondence from the Director-General of the National School of Magistracy (Enam) of Cameroon on 20 September 2024, the financial jurisdiction granted admission for the immersion internship of these judges in special training at this prestigious school.

The closing ceremony aimed to debrief the process of the internship, providing an opportunity to listen to the internship supervisors and then the Central African delegation in order to understand their assessment of their time at the Court of Auditors.

According to the internship supervisors represented by Manga Moukouri, Senior Advisor at the Cdc, a programme for the internship in the registry, in the services and different sections of the Cdc, and even at the public prosecutor's office, had been established. The internship supervisors and the trainers evaluated the judges of the RCA based on certain criteria, including the judge's appearance, discipline, attendance, theoretical knowledge, and practical assimilation.

Overall, the trainees demonstrated a true capacity to assimilate the teachings and procedures, particularly those related to planning examination missions of management, as well as writing instruction reports, conclusions, and draft decisions. From a behavioural standpoint, this cohort upheld the reputation and status of a judge through exemplary conduct and a certain deference to the hierarchy.

At the end of this meeting, which lasted nearly an hour, the trainees were handed back to Enam for the continuation of their training. Before that, they adhered to the ritual of submitting a copy of their internship completion report to the representative of the president of the jurisdiction.
