The 3rd edition of the AISCCUF Youth Congress took place from 2nd to 4th July 2024 at the Hilton Hotel in Yaoundé. About fifteen audit courts, including those from Belgium, Benin, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Congo, Ivory Coast, France, Djibouti, Madagascar, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Romania, Senegal, and Chad, participated in this event. The audit courts of CEMAC and UEMOA were also represented.

The opening round table, moderated by Théodore Mbenoun, president of the 1st section of the Accounts Chamber (CDC), focused on SDG 16: peace, justice, and effective institutions, one of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the UN, which aims to promote peaceful societies, ensure access to justice for all, and establish effective, accountable, and inclusive institutions at all levels. The moderator reminded everyone of the importance of these goals for the ISC (Supreme Control Institutions). Viviane Ondoua Biwole, professor, addressed the philosophical and political questions related to governance and proposed that auditing the SDGs become a subject of systematic analysis. Linda Kueta Kenne from the World Bank discussed her institution's support for governance reforms through the PforR tool, while highlighting the central role of financial jurisdiction in improving governance in Cameroon.

Workshops, social and cultural activities

Three workshops enriched the program: the first focused on the operationalization of the SDGs, including performance auditing and budget execution evaluation; the second on public policy evaluation, emphasizing the methodological skills required; and the last on the impact of the ISC's work, with particular attention to the use of social networks like LinkedIn to promote the actions of these institutions. These sessions, led by African and European experts, included practical cases and feedback from the participating jurisdictions.

On 2nd July, a gala evening in honour of the participants was held at Village Noah, featuring a dinner of local specialties and performances from the National Ballet, punctuated by musical nods to various foreign delegations. On 4th July, a cultural excursion allowed the seminar participants to discover the National Museum of Cameroon, the Reunification Monument, and the Mefou Animal Park, for an immersion into the country's rich wildlife.
