The Audit Bench of the Supreme Court has completed its review of the management of the Cameroon Debt Recovery Corporation (SRC) for the period 2018-2022.
The review reveals a consolidated net deficit of 2.12 billion FCFA over the period under review, despite the SRC's strategic role in recovering public debts and liquidating financial institutions.
The audit report also highlights multiple failures in governance marked by an absence of strategy and supervisory control. These weaknesses are also observed in operational performance, notably the non-payment of funds to the Public Treasury or irregular real estate transfers. Regarding human resources management, a toxic social climate and contentious dismissals are noted.
In conclusion, the jurisdiction makes nine recommendations to redress the management of the SRC and has ordered five referrals for management fault proceedings against the concerned executives.
