On 1 November 2024, the Court of Auditors held a solemn hearing for the oath-taking of thirty-four public accountants. This ceremony, held in the courtroom of the Supreme Court, symbolises their commitment to upholding the principles of transparency, integrity, and responsible management of public funds. This act, which has become a tradition since 2019, also reflects the strengthening of the institutional framework for public finances.
The members of the Court of Auditors reminded us of the major reforms introduced by the laws of 2018, which expanded the powers of the financial jurisdiction. From now on, public accountants play a central role in the audits and management reviews conducted by the Court. These audits, combining analyses of compliance, performance, and regularity, help identify weaknesses and propose solutions to improve financial governance.

During the ceremony, the speeches highlighted the importance of collaboration between the jurisdiction and public managers to ensure effective implementation of decisions and recommendations. As key players in the budgetary chain, public accountants make an essential contribution to the reliability of audits thanks to their expertise and the quality of the accounting information they provide.
The challenges related to the implementation of the decisions of the Court of Auditors were also addressed. It was noted that the rigorous implementation of the recommendations remains a priority to strengthen citizens' trust in the management of public resources.

This solemn hearing reflects the willingness of the Court of Auditors to promote a culture of accountability and ethics among public managers. Through this event, the financial jurisdiction reaffirms its fundamental role in the continuous improvement of budgeting and financial practices in Cameroon.
