The Audit Bench Receives IT Equipment to Enhance Digitization Efforts


On 5 June 2024, the President of the Audit Bench, Yap Abdou, presided over a ceremony to receive a significant consignment of IT equipment from the European Union delegation. Sebastian Schäber, Programme Officer for Macroeconomics and Economic Governance, and Maria Rosaria from the Budget Department represented the EU at the event.

Details of the Equipment

Ø IT Equipment:

·       135 laptops;

·       30 complete desktop systems;

·       3 professional scanning machines.

Inspection and Verification

All packages were inspected and verified without any issues reported regarding the supplier.

The supplier shall be responsible for the installation and commissioning of the equipment.

Significance for the Audit Bench

The arrival of this equipment is timely as it coincides with a period when effectively deploying audit missions is a top priority for the management. The new computers will be mainly used by the audit teams, while the professional scanning machines will significantly enhance the digitization capabilities of the Audit Institution's Data Base Centre.

Donation Details

This donation, part of the FED/2023 contracts, consists of two lots:

Lot 1:

·       Computers and scanners

Lot 2:

·       Videoconferencing equipment, which is currently being received

This substantial support from the European Union represents a crucial step forward in strengthening the Audit Bench's digital infrastructure, facilitating more efficient and effective audit processes, and bolstering the overall governance framework.
